Between two Fires

Between Two Fires

'Between two Fires' is a permanent exhibition that tells the story of the Netherlands and the First World War. Although the Netherlands is neutral, the war years 1914–1918 do not pass by unnoticed. Five themes each highlight a specific aspect of the effect the war had on the Netherlands:

1. Four years on standby.
2. Public opinion.
3. Hunger victims and war profiteers.
4. Civilian refugees and interned soldiers.
5. ‘Red’ versus ‘Orange’.
